Sandvik®
2205 & 2205SH
|
Higher Tempering
2205 is 30 - 40% higher than 316. 2205SH is 15 - 20% higher than 17-7ph.
Higher Spring Force Could use smaller diameter wire or design smaller spring.
Better Relaxation Resistance
Keeps spring force.
Increased Fatigue Strength
Allows high load cycles.
Easy to Form Its duplex structure is very ductile.
Better Corrosion Resistance
More than double 17-7ph in pitting resistance, 30% better than 316.

The InterWire Group is proud to offer Sandvik SAF 22O5 and 22O5SH to the wire spring industry. Both the 22O5 and 22O5SH are optimized for the best corrosion resistance and forming properties besides having excellent fatigue properties, allowing for higher load cycles. The secret lies in Sandvik's new drawing technique, which allows for high tensile strength with no change in chemical composition. In many cases they can compete with 17-7PH and 316, especially where lack of space puts demands on spring design and performance where a smaller diameter wire could be used.
Spring coilers will find 2205 very ductile and easy to form due to its duplex structure. The 2205 SH offer both Super High tensile strength and corrosion resistance performance more than double 17-7ph in pitting resistance and 30% better than 316. The SAF 2205 is available in the full Sandvik size range of 0.008”-0.315” and 2205SH in sizes 0.008”-0.039”.
